We celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday in red, white and blue.
In the run up to the celebration, all the children designed and made crowns, in honour of her majesty’s wonderful hat collection, and flags. They also learnt to sing the National Anthem and learnt to sing Gary Barlow’s Diamond Jubilee song.
On the day of their special birthday party, they had a picnic and then met in the school hall to sing the songs they had learnt and to watch a special birthday broadcast from Windsor Castle.
Rachel Robinson, one of the teachers who organised the event, said “The hall looked amazing on Friday afternoon- a sea of red, white and blue, with all the children waving the Union flags they had made! The variety of crowns on show was stunning and the children sang with real passion. Thank you to all the parents who sent in contributions for our birthday tea- there was an amazing spread and the children enjoyed it very much.”
