Staff and nursery children at Stowford School had an exciting time as they all became pirates for a day.
During the day they learnt how to talk and act like pirates. They found a message in the bottle and followed the map to hunt for treasure in the garden. They ate pirate decorated biscuits, painted parrots and made pirate jewelry, masks and eye patches. They also had the chance to create storm bubbles in the water tray. They finished their day by making a ship, singing sea shanties, and walking the plank!
Nursery teacher, Sophie Lamerton, said, “The children all looked fantastic in their pirate costumes and really enjoyed all the activities. Perhaps the most exciting thing was the opportunity to actually dig for treasure!”
